The Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) is currently seeking a qualified Deputy Building Inspector (DBI) in upper East Tennessee. The available residential inspection territory covers the non-exempt areas of the following counties:  Hawkins, Sullivan, Johnson, Grainger, Jefferson, Cocke, Greene, Washington, Unicoi, Carter, and Johnson. The contract position of a DBI serves an important role with the SFMO to ensure residential properties are constructed to safe standards.
